Championship 2001
The powerhouse DC Griffin defense
controlled the tempo and escaped a near-miracle comeback by the Zumbrota
Terriers to win NNFL Championship VII.
After an interception by Zumbrota’s Jerry Azumah with just over a minute
to play, the Terriers brought the ball down to the DC six yard line, where
they were thwarted on 4 straight attempts…the last, a catch by Derrick
Alexander just past the end line…and DC goes on to win the hard-fought
battle, 16-12.
